The first annual OKC Women's March will continue to focus on the same core topics that impact women in Oklahoma in an effort to mobilize communities towards meaningful change in the areas of Women's Voting Rights, Domestic Violence, Female Incarceration, Maternal Mortality & Morbidity, Wage Gap Economics, Reproductive Justice, and Embedded Sexism.
Advocacy Works will lead an annual Women’s March as a sustainable initiative linking Oklahoma to International Women’s Day. Our 'Crown of Distinction' Awards will be given to female leaders in Oklahoma; as well as 'Torches of Legacy' given to selected young ladies symbolizing the transfer of wisdom and responsibility in advocacy.
Advocacy Works will serve as a trusted advocacy connector: a one-stop hub where everyday Oklahomans seeking help can share their stories when they don’t know where else to turn. We listen, we care, and will use our relationships to connect Oklahomans to the best fit legislative resources.
Advocacy Works will host community gatherings, trainings, and workshops to equip Oklahomans to become advocates or volunteers themselves because neighbor-to-neighbor engagement strengthens communities and creates
care that keeps people truly safe.
Advocacy Works will prioritize voter information strategies in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Oklahoma County to help Oklahomans better understand voting issues, public policy, and their civic power.
Monthly updates on voting issues, advocacy connections, and community empowerment in Oklahoma City!
